About The Role


Uber's Tax & Compliance Product Team is looking for a talented Product Manager to drive strategy, execution, and innovation within our global Tax and Compliance platform. This role is pivotal in expanding the capabilities of our FinTech services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering a seamless experience for partners, merchants, riders, and eaters worldwide.


We are seeking a strategic leader to define the vision and roadmap for our tax products - tax calculations and indirect tax reporting - and to lead cross-functional teams in making critical product decisions. Product Strategy & Definition


  • Construct and lead the execution of the product roadmap and multi-year programs
  • Drive the long-term strategy of key tax products development, partnering with Legal and Tax teams to interpret evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Translate complex tax regulations (including indirect and withholding taxes) into structured, scalable product features and system requirements.
  • Elicit business requirements by conducting stakeholder interviews, tax expert demonstrations, and user research to gather insights.
  • Develop detailed use cases to articulate the needs of internal teams, including Tax, Operations, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Design scalable tax configurations for Mobility and Delivery business lines, accounting for common and city-specific tax laws.

Product Development & Execution

  • Champion new features and platform changes, providing the engineering team with clear requirements and support throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in engineering scrums to unblock development, and file and coordinate tickets for engineering, design, and operations teams.
  • Drive the implementation of direct tax withholding in the US, LatAm, and EMEA markets, as well as integrations with Uber and external tax systems
  • Implement, track, and improve defined product KPIs to measure success.
  • Document tax system operations and functionalities in self-serve tutorials.

QA & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide quality assurance support for new product launches, including testing and validating tax calculation logic and proofreading messaging.
  • Collaborate with local operations and tax advisory teams to validate system implementations before rollout.
  • Engage with global stakeholders to elicit requirements driven by upcoming changes to the business.
  • Hold training sessions to help internal customers build an understanding of the tax systems and processes.

Stakeholders This position involves working directly with engineering, design, product operations, and data teams. Interaction is also required with various client groups across Uber and the FinTech organization, including Tax, Compliance, Payments, Legal, Operations, and stakeholders across different lines of business.


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in product management.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of taxation regulations, including indirect and withholding taxes.
  • Previous experience in the FinTech domain is required
  • Previous experience with third-party tax systems.
  • Proven experience owning product development from inception to production launch.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Tax advisory or Tax Technology areas is a strong plus.
  • Deep analytical experience and a solid understanding of software development processes and dependencies (e.g., project phases, QA, bug fixes).
  • Large-scale, global project management experience with agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and manage senior stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with an ability to navigate uncertainty.
  • Ability and willingness to engage with customers and internal teams.
  • Experience working with remote teams.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
