Position Summary: Product Owner


Level: Manager or equivalent


As a Feature Owner, you will lead strategy, roadmap definition, and value delivery for one or more Ascend products. You will drive business alignment, prioritize initiatives based on measurable impact, and partner across strategy, release, and engineering functions to ensure Ascend’s platforms deliver scalable, user-centric outcomes across Deloitte’s ecosystem.


Work you’ll do:


  • Lead end-to-end ownership of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Ascend’s long-term business and technology objectives.
  • Drive prioritization of initiatives across competing demands, balancing business value, client impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Product Strategy, Release, and Engineering Leads to ensure cross-functional alignment and consistent execution.
  • Proactively identify and lead opportunities for product innovation, process efficiency, and improved customer experience.
  • Own the product backlog, defining and maintaining detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical dependencies in PMOne.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions and ensure clear communication of priorities to global delivery teams.
  • Engage with business, operations, and client leaders to define release goals, KPIs, and success metrics for measurable impact.
  • Champion the “voice of the customer,” ensuring end-user insights directly inform backlog prioritization and product improvements.
  • Partner closely with architecture, delivery, and data teams to define scalable, secure, and AI-enabled product capabilities.
  • Define GenAI-enabled capabilities including agentic workflows, tool calling patterns, and RAG integration requirements.
  • Collaborate with architecture and data teams to identify and prioritize feature-level data needs for retrieval and agentic experiences.
  • Drive cross-feature alignment across Ascend to ensure consistent experience, shared components reuse, and dependency resolution.
  • Define instrumentation events, success metrics, and telemetry required for feature performance measurement.
  • Contribute to governance processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, risk management, and quality benchmarks.
  • Mentor and develop product team members, promoting ownership, accountability, and agile excellence across the organization.

Innovation & Delivery Transformation enables Deloitte to systematically embrace technology and our clients’ rate of change by organizing rapid innovation, expanding our approach to engineering, and rethinking how we navigate disruption in an increasingly tech-fueled market. Innovation & Delivery Transformation includes several Mission Areas: Delivery Transformation, Innovation, Deloitte Engineering, Applied AI Strategic Growth Offering, Sustainability Strategic Growth Offering, Office of the Chief Data Officer, and Office of the Chief Technology Officer. The Delivery Transformation team drives modernization of delivery practices, leveraging agile methodologies, automation, and advanced tools to enhance efficiency and quality across client engagements.


The Delivery Transformation (DT) team sits within IDT and focuses on operationalizing innovative platforms and delivery models, such as Ascend. DT drives the integration of these solutions across our client delivery practices to help Deloitte practitioners excel in a rapidly evolving delivery landscape and deliver value to our clients faster and more efficiently.


Qualifications


Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:


  • Proven experience defining and executing product strategies and roadmaps that drive measurable business value.
  • Strong background in Agile delivery, backlog management, and iterative product development.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including Engineering, Data, Architecture, and Operations.
  • Proficiency in Agile tools and product management platforms (e.g., Jira, ADO, PMOne).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor complex concepts to executive and technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, AI/GenAI, and data-driven product development.
  • Understanding of GenAI technologies (LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented systems, agent workflows).
  • Experience building or managing AI-enabled workflows preferred.


Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:


  • Experience leading large-scale digital transformation or modernization programs.
  • Certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM, or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to manage distributed global teams and vendors in an agile enterprise setting.
  • Strong understanding of platform scalability, security, and lifecycle governance.
  • Ability to write or refine prompt specifications, agent skills, RAG requirements.
  • Understanding of GenAI platform constraints (rate limits, data boundaries, evals, safety).
  • Ability to define multi-feature workflows and work in a complex platform ecosystem.


Education:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline.
